In case it isn’t plainly obvious by the subject matter of 99.9% of my posts, I feed the needs of my inner child on a daily basis. The trailer announcing the upcoming Justice League VS Teen Titans movie, is akin to sitting down at an all-you-can-eat buffet. It didn’t just blow my mind, but the noggin holding it together. I’m especially pumped at the fact that the story line revolves around Raven and Trigun. I’ve always LOVED all that ish. I’ll be over here fangirl’ing till it arrives. Until then:
Absolutely STUNNING! Insanely gifted artist, Ant Lucia has taken DC Comic’s Feeme Fatales and re-imagined them as Beautiful Buxom Bombshells. The attention to detail and historic significance is captivating beyond words. A part of me is severely wishing that the Zatana and Harley Quinn re-designs, would just be used as their actual standard costumes. They’re easily my favorites of the whole series.
These prints are available for purchase and it looks like there are even little statuettes for each one by DC collectibles, but I haven’t been able to find a link to them. Perhaps, they’re just prototypes at this stage? Who knows? Either way, these are just ridiculous! RIDICULOUS I say!
Floored. Absolutely floored! That’s the only way I can describe my reactions to these EPIC pieces rendered by artist Joe Phillips. He takes some of Comic Books’ most iconic characters and pairs them with actors and actresses from Hollywood’s Golden Age. I grew up in a house that watched movies and television programs that highly featured these legendary performers, so this was an extra special treat for me; particularly Lucille Ball as The Scarlet Witch!
I wonder if I can get him to do one with James Dean as Gambit? Wouldn’t that be just an absolutely PERFECT pairing?!?
Zack Snyder and Comic-Con treat us to the first full length trailer for Dawn of Justice.
Pins and Needles. Pins and FREAKING Needles!!
Entertainment Weekly is just kilin me with with their ComicCon issue. Why? Because The Trinity in all their non-comic book glory is featured on the cover! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!
It’s almost unreal to see these Titans of the DC Universe in full, living color. I’m literally so excited I could just spit! I’m glad to see that Wonder Woman’s outfit does have elements of her classic colors versus the very beige and brown debut from a couple of months ago. Not that I didn’t like her Xena, Warrior Princess vibe; in fact, I personally kinda loved it! But I know all the fanboys of the world died a little inside. Maybe now, they can calm their nerd rage a smidge? I mean, COME ON! This picture looks like it leaped right off the pages of a comic book!
Entertainment Weekly has a few additional exclusive set pics; so if you’re in the mood to nerdgasm a little more, head on over and check them out.
I may be the world’s worst blogger. I have these moments where I can’t think of new geeky pieces of news to relay, funny memes to post or even bring myself to visit my own site. Massive fail much? Fact is, I don’t have the luxury of blogging as a full time (not to mention, lucrative) job. Despite my recent sabbatical from the work force, lack of fundage and altogether sheer boredom, had prompted me to go searching for a new job. Twerking 9-5 just wasn’t paying the bills.
The interesting thing about my existence is that what I’m good at on a professional level is so far removed from any of my passions and the things that truly drive me in life, that it feels like I’m two different people. By day, I’m a mild mannered Customer Service Manager for a great Metropolitan Corporate Sales company and by night, I’m Xanderated; fighting for Comic Book Truths, Gamer Justice and the Geekmerican way! I find it funny. Not funny “Ha-Ha” but more funny “oh GAWD!”
Like my self-appointed Kryptonian Kounterpart, I guess this means I need to find a balance between these two identities so as not to ignore one or the other. Little worried given the fact that countless issues of the Superman comic books later and the Man of Steel continues to find challenges in doing that. I guess that’s part of the appeal of this epic icon. It’s Clark’s journey, not his destination, that keeps the narrative going. I assume (and hope) the same could be said of my own.
So? I’ll keep fighting the good fight. I can’t and won’t give up either half of my being. They’re flip sides of the same coin and make me whole….
… although I wouldn’t mind having a personal assistant. Emily? EMILY?!?
