I feel the need to point out that I’m re-hashing some random thought/soapbox’ish rant I had a while ago, as a blog entry. Why? Because this is my damned blog and I feel super entitled to (as Cartman would say) do what I want.
That being said, I’m thoroughly convinced that I’m addicted to Felicia Day and all that she stands for. I’m not entirely sure what it may be that she DOES stand for but whatever it is, consider me subscribed. I’ve also surrendered to the fact that I would totally be into her if I were not heterosexually-challenged…. gay, in laymen’s terms. I mean, she’s totally geeky, cute as a button, looks good in a pair of glasses AND she’s a redhead. Granted, I’ve never had the opportunity to date and/or ogle after a red-headed guy in real life; and given that I’m married now, dating one would probably be considered counter-productive to the whole monogamy thing. But I keep putting my red-headed-hotties vibe out there for the universe to latch on to for the sole purpose of at least being graced with their fiery presence. Heck, let’s take a quick break to appreciate the HAWTness of Seth Fornea:
Wasn’t that fun? But I digress.
So Felicia has been doing these video blogs thru the Geek & Sundry channel on YouTube that she’s affectionately dubbed a FLOG. Couldn’t get more epic than that. I would do the same, except I don’t think I could pronounce XLOG out loud. It doesn’t even look nice to read. Whereas FLOG comes off calming, peaceful, tranquil and friendly.
Episode 4 of her FLOG is one of my personal favorites. There are SOOO many reasons I could go into why, but I really only have 30 minutes left before I have to get into my boring 9-5 so I can’t go into it. BUT! I do have time to mention the best part of this particular FLOG was that she played the violin while her friend Tom Lenk played the piano to an original score compose by Mr. Lenk entitled “Ode to Carrie Fisher”. And HELLO, if THAT wasn’t enough, did anyone not realize that Tom Lenk is Andrew from Buffy the Vampire Slayer?… and like 2 episodes on Angel. So you have the former would-be slayer, Felicia with former would-be watcher, Tom playing a song for Star Wars!!!
HOW you’re not needing to wipe up after yourself with a moist towelette is beyond me.
At any rate, I’m done talking about this. There’s too much excitement going on. I feel if I type any more, I may dent my keyboard. And I don’t want to do that. It was expensive.
Floored. Absolutely floored! That’s the only way I can describe my reactions to these EPIC pieces rendered by artist Joe Phillips. He takes some of Comic Books’ most iconic characters and pairs them with actors and actresses from Hollywood’s Golden Age. I grew up in a house that watched movies and television programs that highly featured these legendary performers, so this was an extra special treat for me; particularly Lucille Ball as The Scarlet Witch!
I wonder if I can get him to do one with James Dean as Gambit? Wouldn’t that be just an absolutely PERFECT pairing?!?
When the Lich King and his undead Scourge threatened the world, the Argent Crusade called upon Azeroth’s mightiest heroes to prove their mettle in a magnificent tournament. Knights of all races flocked to Northrend, vying for glory in epic battles against fearsome monsters. Though the Lich King’s evil has been vanquished, the Grand Tournament continues… the competitive atmosphere’s just a bit more playful than it used to be.
And why shouldn’t the show go on? Would-be champions are arriving in droves from all over the world, hankering to prove their worth and claim the honor of flying their colors in the name of victory!
Who will be the victor of The Grand Tournament? You and your friends, of course!
I couldn’t be more excited! We’re not just talking about something as simple as just another expansion in Hearthstone’s already amazing line-up; we’re looking at the Trial of the Crusader. Do you realize where that’s held? Northrend! And do you realize which World of Warcraft expansion that was? Wrath of the Lich King! And do you realize what class that signifies will make its debut? THE DEATH KNIGHT!
Initiate Fan-Girl Squealing!!! Like, OH my total GAWD! FINALLY! My Hearthstone life is complete. To be fair, it hasn’t actually been officially stated (yet) that the Death Knight will make its debut apart from seeing that brief animation in the Grand Tournament’s official cinematic, but come on! It’s happening! Whether or not that means the Death Knight will be featured in a bodacious new card or (oh please, oh please, oh please) be a new Hero to us, remains to be seen. It better freaking be the latter though. I would just keel over and die, if it wasn’t. Besides, Hearthstone is due for a new Hero Class and this expansion couldn’t BE more of an appropriate time to debut one.
Stoked beyond words either way. I just hope Blizzard takes me BEYOND, beyond words and makes my wish come true. All I want for Christmas is a Death Knight class! Make it so!
So I recently crafted the Mal’Ganis card to add to my Warlock deck in Hearthstone.
All in all, I’d say it was an outrageous success.
